About This Store
In September 1973, American Ace Hardware opened its doors in Ball, LA. Owner Chuck Couvillion was 21 years old at that time, the youngest Ace dealer in the country. The store's name reflects the deep patriotic feelings of his parents who both served in Europe in WWII. Chuck's father and mother owned and operated H.L. Couvillion Building Materials in Alexandria, which became an Ace dealer in the mid 1960s. After attending his first Ace Hardware Show with his dad in Atlanta in 1970, Chuck was inspired to become an Ace dealer. With his parents help and guidance, that is exactly what he did. September 2013 marks American Ace Hardware's 40th year in business. Chuck and his staff would like to thank their great customers for allowing us to serve you as your Helpful Hardware Folks.
