Scheels Ace Hardware

Three acres of potatoes were the seed for the first Scheels store in 1902. Frederick A. Scheel, a German immigrant, used the $300 he earned from his first harvest of potatoes as a down payment on the first Scheels, a small hardware and general merchandise store in Sabin, MN. Our current 45,000 square foot store includes a broad selection of basic hardware, lawn and garden, paint, power equipment and a small-engine repair shop, along with a unique collection of specialty shops that distinguish Scheels Home & Hardware from a typical hardware store. These include women's apparel, home furnishings and decor, a barbecue museum, and cafe featuring housemade soups, sandwiches and an espresso bar.
