Hudson's Healing Space
It's always a heartwarming experience when people pull together to help families in need. When the Branch family learned that their son Hudson was facing a serious health crisis, their friends at Tifton Ace Hardware pitched in to support them.
Last summer, the Branch family got some difficult news. Their son Hudson was complaining of headaches. An MRI later revealed that Hudson had a brain tumor, which would require surgery to remove. Thankfully, the surgery was a success, and Hudson was soon on the road to recovery.
"After the surgery it was like a miracle," said Jamie, Hudson's Mom. "We could not believe how quickly he was recovering, and how quickly he wanted to walk."
When Adam Fulgohm, Manager at Tifton Ace Hardware, and the rest of his Ace team found out about Hudson's medical condition, they all pitched in to donate some fishing gear and a mini disc golf game that he could play at home while he was recovering.
Hudson practiced his mini disc golf game until he was well enough to play the real thing outdoors. Tifton Ace even sponsored Hudson at a local disc golf tournament where he competed. For the family, it was a chance to bond over a fun game.
Hudson also has quite a green thumb, which the team at Ace was all too happy to support. Unfortunately, while Hudson was having his surgery and recovering, all the plants in his garden perished. So Adam and his Ace team donated $1000 for gardening equipment. In a matter of days, they had everything they needed to get the garden growing again, including raised beds, soil, plants, a wheelbarrow, storage buildings and irrigation.
"Seeing his face light up, and seeing him when he gets home from school, wanting to go check on his garden… it really brings back joy to our lives," said Jamie.
"That one little seed that we planted has turned into what we have now, and that's what we're here to do," said Adam.
