For seniors who have lost their spouses, holidays can be an especially hard time. Thanks to the team at Pellicci Ace Hardware in Farmington, Minnesota, the residents of the Trinity Senior Campus nursing home can share a treat, a thoughtful card, and some warm smiles on Valentine's Day.

The team at Pellicci Ace Hardware wanted to do something nice for the local nursing home, Trinity Senior Campus. They came up with the idea of creating Valentines for seniors.

"We hand deliver Valentines for every senior," said Amanda, Owner of Pellicci Ace Hardware. "We fill our baskets with cards, chocolates, flowers, anything that we think the seniors may like."

Then, on Valentine's Day, the team at Pellicci Ace puts on their red vests and they head over to Trinity Senior Campus.

"The residents really benefit by having other people come in and talk to them and visit with them," said Tracy, Staff Member at Trinity Senior Campus. "It really boosts their morale."

The whole experience leaves everyone feeling good on Valentine's Day, taking a moment to exchange gifts, stories, and thanks.

"It's a nice pastime when they come," said William "Bud," Resident at Trinity Senior Campus. "If they have time to hear some of my stories, even more fun!"

"We keep doing it because the community loves it, the residents love it, but most importantly, we love to do it," said Amanda.
