In 1970, a local family purchased a small hardware store adjacent to The University of Texas. That small store now has two locations and is an Austin institution. Still locally owned and operated, the stores were purchased in 2015 by a new local family. This family expanded the role of Ace Hardware - from the "behind the scenes" supplier, to revitalizing and growing throughout central Texas. As your local hardware store, we're part of the largest independently-owned hardware cooperative in the industry. Ace Hardware stores are unique and tailored to meet the needs of their local communities. We are "the Helpful Place" by offering our customers knowledgeable advice, helpful service, and quality products. While hardware is still a big part of the experience, we also offer some of the finest tableware, kitchenware, garden and seasonal decor anywhere. From simple household repairs to the fine art of table setting, we promise that helping you is the most important thing we do.
