Are Replacement Batteries for Power Tools Interchangeable?

Some batteries for power tools are brand-specific. For example, an EGO 7.5 Ah battery is designed to be used with all EGO tools. However, it’s also true that many manufacturers make different types of cordless tools that can run off the same cordless tool batteries. Keep in mind that voltage differences are typically not interchangeable. You likely will not be able to use a 20V battery with a cordless 18V tool.
