Our Philanthropy

Serving our communities is a responsibility we take very seriously. We believe in giving back to the communities we do business in and helping those in need.

The Ace Hardware Foundation, which is the official charitable division of Ace Hardware Corporation, is a 501(c)3 organization that exists to help enhance the vision of being the "Helpful Place" in local communities through philanthropy. The Foundation provides support and opportunities to its consumers, retail store owners, vendor partners and team members to give back locally, primarily through efforts for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals® and American Red Cross Disaster Relief. In addition, the Foundation oversees the Ace Helpful Fund, an employee emergency assistance fund available to qualified retail, corporate, field and RSC Ace team members who are facing financial hardship.

Each year, Ace recognizes a retailer, at the Fall Convention, and a patient of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to represent our fundraising efforts for CMN Hospitals. In 2019, Zach Jablonowski of Jabo's Ace Hardware was awarded the honor of 2019 Ace All-Star Retailer to be celebrated for all of 2020, and Avery Kazakewicz of UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh was crowned the 2020 Ace All-Star. With COVID-19 challenging our in-person presence in 2020, we don't feel that either Zach or Avery have been given the recognition and opportunity to be a spokesperson for our Ace community in the way they truly deserve. For that reason, we are excited to announce that Avery will be our 2021 Ace All-Star and Zach will be our 2020 All-Star Retailer!

2020 Ace All-Star:
Avery Kazakewicz

Chosen for her spunky attitude and fighting spirit, Avery was crowned the eighth Ace All-Star in Pittsburgh. She is eager to get involved in local fundraising, but unfortunately, with immunocompromises from liver cancer and a liver transplant four years ago, she will not be able to support our stores in person while the threat of COVID-19 is still present. Avery has been able to jump into supporting our community from afar by attending a Zoom cooking class with Chef Jason, sending video notes to the Pittsburgh retailers and serving as the face of Ace on marketing materials throughout stores.

Zach Jablonowski

2020 Ace All-Star Retailer:
Zach Jablonowski

Zach has been a long-standing supporter of CMN Hospitals through Jabo's work with Children's Health in Dallas and Cook Children’s in Fort Worth, Texas. He is always thinking of new, innovative ways to get the community involved in fundraising, taking initiatives such as Ladies Night, grilling events, the Miracle Bucket, Round Up for Kids and Mother's Day Gift Baskets to the next level.

You Got This, Chase

Ace stores have always given back to their communities in amazing ways. That’s what got Ace Corporate thinking about what they can do. Out of that came the partnership with Children’s Miracle Network. And from that partnership came an amazing story of a "cancer ninja" who formed a special bond with many Ace employees.
